Ashoka Rice Mills Founder Success Story

Anshul Goel and Aman Goel Ashoka Rice Mills

It Started With One Promise — Never Compromise on the Grain.

In 1993, in the heart of Kurukshetra, Haryana — the land whose soil has fed civilisations for thousands of years — Ashoka Rice Mills was founded with a single, non-negotiable commitment: to mill, process, and deliver Indian Basmati rice exactly as nature intended it. Fragrant. Long-grained. Pure. And honest in every sense of the word.

What began as a modest rice milling operation has grown, over three decades, into one of Haryana's most trusted names in Basmati rice manufacturing and export. Not through shortcuts. Not through compromising on quality to chase cheaper price points. But through the old-fashioned discipline of getting the grain right, every single time, and letting the product speak louder than any marketing ever could.

Today, Ashoka Rice Mills is led by Anshul Goel (Managing Director) and Aman Goel — the next generation carrying forward the same values the mill was built on, now with modern processing technology, a 150 MT per day production capacity, and a portfolio of 50+ rice varieties reaching customers in India, Dubai, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

The fields of Kurukshetra still grow the same fragrant Basmati that farmers have cultivated here for generations. Ashoka Rice Mills is simply the bridge — between that grain and the plate it belongs on.

30 Years of Rice. One Standard of Quality.

We don't just mill rice. We preserve a tradition that Haryana's farms have been building for centuries.

Ashoka Rice Mills Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1993 in Kurukshetra, Haryana — a region widely regarded as the heartland of India's finest Basmati cultivation. For over 30 years, we have been milling, processing, and exporting premium-quality Basmati and Non-Basmati rice to buyers across India and internationally.

We are not a faceless commodity supplier. We are a family-run operation that has grown responsibly — investing in better machinery, stronger certifications, and a wider product range — while never losing sight of what made us worth trusting in the first place: the quality of the grain in every bag.

Under our two beloved brands — Karan and Tradition — we supply a carefully curated range of Indian rice varieties that capture the full diversity of what India's fields produce: aromatic long-grain Basmati for fine dining, everyday Parmal for large-scale institutional supply, pesticide-free organic rice for health-conscious consumers, and specialty varieties for global culinary applications.

Our production facility on Amin Road, Kurukshetra is equipped with advanced rice milling and processing machinery capable of handling 150 metric tonnes per day — with hygiene, traceability, and quality control built into every stage from paddy intake to final packaging.

We hold certifications from ISO, USFDA, APEDA, HACCP, GMP, and FSSAI — not as labels on a wall, but as operational commitments that every consignment we ship must satisfy.

Why Ashoka Rice Mills

01 — 30+ Years of Milling Experience
We have been processing Haryana's finest Basmati rice since 1993. Every year of that experience is reflected in the consistency, aroma, and grain length of every lot we ship. Experience is not a number on a website — it is the confidence you get when you open a bag of Ashoka rice and it smells exactly like it should.

02 — Certified Quality at Every Stage
ISO, USFDA, APEDA, HACCP, GMP, and FSSAI certifications are not marketing badges. They are the result of independent audits of our milling processes, hygiene standards, and quality control systems. When you buy from Ashoka Rice Mills, you are buying from an operation that has been externally verified to meet international food safety standards.

03 — 50+ Varieties, One Quality Standard
From Traditional Basmati to Pusa 1121, Sharbati to Sugandha, Sona Masoori to IR-64 Parboiled — our range covers every category of Indian rice your business or kitchen could need. Whatever the variety, the quality standard never changes.

04 — On-Time Delivery — Every Time
We understand that a rice exporter who misses delivery windows is not an exporter anyone keeps working with. Our 150 MT per day production capacity, organised logistics partnerships, and experience managing international consignments means your order ships when we say it will.

From Kurukshetra's Fields to Your Table

Ashoka Rice Mills was founded in 1993 in Kurukshetra — the heartland of India's finest Basmati belt — with one purpose: to deliver Indian rice in its purest, most flavourful form. Over 30 years and 50+ varieties later, we are still doing exactly that, now with 150 MT daily production capacity, six international certifications, and distribution reaching Dubai, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

The grain hasn't changed. Neither has our commitment to it.

The Family Behind the Grain

The story of Ashoka Rice Mills is really the story of the Goel family's relationship with Kurukshetra — a relationship that goes back to 1993 when the mill was first established, and that has deepened with every harvest season since.

Kurukshetra is not just a geographic location for the Goels. It is the landscape that gives Ashoka Rice Mills its competitive foundation — the rich, alluvial soil of Haryana's Basmati belt, the traditional farming communities whose cultivation practices have been refined over generations, and the agricultural infrastructure that allows the mill to source paddy directly from the fields that produce it.

Anshul Goel, the Managing Director, represents the generation that is taking Ashoka Rice Mills from a regionally respected miller to an internationally recognised exporter. Under his leadership, the mill has expanded its product range, achieved multiple international certifications, strengthened export relationships in the Gulf, and built the digital presence that connects buyers worldwide directly to the mill's own website and enquiry channels.

Aman Goel manages the operational and commercial dimensions of the business — the day-to-day reality of running a 150 MT per day milling operation, maintaining the quality standards that certifications require, and building the buyer relationships that sustain long-term export partnerships.

Together, the Goel family is carrying forward a legacy that was built on a simple, honest foundation: put the best possible rice in every bag, deliver it when you said you would, and let the grain do the talking.

For 30 years, the grain has been speaking for itself. Buyers in Dubai, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia have been listening.

Our Brands

Two Names. One Promise.

KARAN — Named for strength and reliability, Karan is Ashoka Rice Mills' value range — bringing the quality of Haryana's finest rice to everyday tables across India and internationally, at a price that makes purity accessible.

TRADITION — Our premium brand, honouring the centuries-old Basmati cultivation heritage of the Kurukshetra region. Tradition rice is for the cook who knows the difference between rice that is simply cooked and rice that fills the kitchen with an aroma that makes everyone stop what they are doing and come to the table.

50+ Varieties. One Origin. Zero Compromise.

Everything we mill and process begins in the same place — the farms of Haryana's Basmati belt, where India's finest long-grain rice has been grown for generations. What changes across our 50+ varieties is the processing method, the grain specification, and the application — from aromatic raw Basmati for household kitchens to bulk parboiled non-Basmati for large-scale institutional supply.

Basmati Rice — Our flagship range. Pusa 1121, Sharbati, 1718, 1509, 1401, Traditional Basmati — available in Raw, Steam, Sella, Golden Sella, and Parboiled processing formats.

Non-Basmati Rice — PR11, PR14, IR-64, Parmal, Sugandha, Sona Masoori — India's most-consumed everyday rice varieties, processed to the same quality standards as our Basmati range.

Organic Rice — Pesticide-free, naturally grown rice for health-conscious buyers who want a clean label and a clean conscience.

Certifications

Our Quality Is Verified, Not Just Claimed.

ISO Certified — International quality management standards applied to every process in our milling operation.

USFDA Compliant — Meeting the food safety requirements of the United States Food and Drug Administration — the highest regulatory bar in global food trade.

APEDA Registered — Certified by India's Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority — a mandatory registration for Indian rice exporters.

HACCP Certified — Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points certification confirming that food safety risks are systematically identified and controlled throughout our processing chain.

GMP Certified — Good Manufacturing Practice certification verifying that our production facility and processes meet the standards required for safe, consistent food production.

FSSAI Licensed — India's Food Safety and Standards Authority of India license confirming compliance with domestic food safety regulations.

Six certifications. One reason: so that every buyer — domestic or international — knows that the rice they receive from Ashoka Rice Mills has been produced, processed, and packed under independently verified conditions.
