Taste-E-Ride Founder Success Story
The Story — In Her Own Words
She was a teacher. Cooking for her family had always been her real passion — not a hobby, not a side interest, but the thing she did with her whole heart every single day.
Her husband worked at a private bank. Every morning he would take her home-cooked lunch to work.
One afternoon, he shared his meal with a colleague.
The reaction was incredible.
Word spread. Within days, colleagues were asking for daily tiffins. Then more colleagues. Then their colleagues. A tiffin service that nobody had planned was suddenly in full swing — born entirely from one lunch that tasted like someone's mother had made it.
The couple saw something real in those requests. Not just appetite — genuine longing. Working professionals, students, people living away from home in Ambala Cantt who would give anything for a meal that didn't taste like a restaurant. Something warm, fresh, home-cooked, and honest.
Then in April 2019, her husband's corporate career took an unexpected turn. Instead of looking for another job, they made a different decision together.
They opened Taste-E-Ride.
What started as a few tiffin boxes grew fast. Word of mouth did what no advertisement could. The focus was always the same three things: hygiene, quality, and authentic taste — cooked exactly the way she cooked for her own family.
They adapted. Tiffin boxes became meal tray thalis. The menu expanded. And what was once just a family kitchen became a full food point serving the Ambala Cantt community with wholesome, vegetarian meals that people come back for — not once, but every single day.
What Makes Taste-e-ride Special
There are plenty of places to eat in Ambala Cantt. Taste-E-Ride is not competing with them on ambience or Instagram aesthetics.
It is competing on one thing only: food that tastes like someone who loves you made it.
That is harder to deliver than most restaurants realise. It requires cooking from scratch, every day, with fresh ingredients, without shortcuts. It requires the kind of care that cannot be faked and cannot be replicated by a cloud kitchen feeding algorithms.
Taste-E-Ride has been doing it since April 2019. Tiffin by tiffin. Thali by thali. Customer by customer.

Why This Story Matters
India has millions of food businesses. Most of them started with money, a business plan, and a target market.
Taste-E-Ride started with a lunch box.
No market research. No startup capital. No business degree. Just a wife who cooked with love, a husband who believed in her, one colleague who got lucky at lunchtime, and a decision to build something real when an unexpected turn forced a new direction.
That is the kind of entrepreneurship that never makes headlines but feeds thousands of people every year.
In April 2019, two people took a risk together. Today their Dal Makhani is what someone's otherwise ordinary workday tastes like. Their thali is what a homesick student eats when the city feels lonely. Their kitchen is the reason 42 guests at a family gathering went home satisfied.
That is not a small thing. That is everything.
The One Thing They Want You To Know
"We started in our own kitchen, driven by love for cooking and joy in sharing food. That has never changed. Whether you are ordering one samosa or a thali for your whole office — it is made the same way. Fresh, clean, and with the same care we put into everything we cook for our own family.
Come once. You will understand."
